NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month: Jaelyn Blanc


DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University men's track and field senior Jaelyn Blanc has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for June 2022 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments as a jumper and in the classroom.
 
As a junior last season, Blanc earned a silver medal in the long jump (7.63 meters) and a bronze medal in the triple jump (14.78 meters) at the 2022 MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
 
Blanc qualified for the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries in the men's long jump with his career-best 7.63m leap at the MEAC Championships. He then competed in his first collegiate NCAA postseason event in May.
 
In his third season with the Eagles, Blanc had two top-six finishes in the long jump and three top-five finishes in the triple jump during the outdoor season.
 
Blanc, who resides in Hyattsville, Maryland, is a kinesiology major at NCCU with a concentration in strength and conditioning. He maintains a 3.303 cumulative grade point average (GPA) after three years at NCCU. Blanc is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and SGA Senior Senate.
 
After he graduates in May of 2023, Blanc plans to either pursue professional track and field or become a personal trainer.
