ELON, N.C. – Sophomore
Diamond Porter produced the only hit for the North Carolina Central University softball team in a 7-0 non-conference road loss at Elon University on Tuesday evening.
The Phoenix used two big innings, scoring three runs in the third and four more runs in the fourth, to secure their 16th home victory. Elon (16-12 overall) scored its seven runs on 10 hits, including four doubles during that two-inning outburst.

Sophomore Gabi Schaal led the victors with three hits, three RBI and two runs scored. He had a run-producing double in the third and a two-run double in the fourth.
Elon used five pitchers in the combined shutout.
