ELON, N.C. – The host Phoenix won all completed matches as Elon University posted a 4-0 non-conference women's tennis victory over North Carolina Central University on Friday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
Elon improved to 8-5 with its fifth straight home victory.
The Phoenix started the day with 6-1 and 6-3 doubles wins on courts one and three, respectively.
Senior No. 6 Olivia Archer doubled up Elon's lead with a 6-0, 6-0 win over freshman
Anaiah Jones. Junior No. 4 Julie Ball followed with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over freshman
Lafi Joao. Sophomore No. 2 Lizette Reding clinched the match for the Phoenix with her 6-2, 6-3 victory over freshman
Kennedy Hill.
NC Central (1-7) will next host in-state rival North Carolina A&T State University in a rescheduled non-conference match on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
