GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman shortstop
Jaden Davis collected two of North Carolina Central University's three hits in a 13-0 non-conference loss at North Carolina A&T State University on Tuesday afternoon at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Davis led off the contest with a single to left field and the started the top of the third with a bunt single, however she was erased both times on groundouts.
The Eagles had base runners all five innings, including walks by juniors
Diamond Porter and
Maegan Garrison in the second and fifth innings, respectively, and freshman
Jai'lyn Edwards tallying NCCU's last hit with a single in the fourth.
However, two Aggie pitchers combined for the shutout as the Eagles stranded five runners on base runners over those five innings.
N.C. A&T (8-6 Overall) collected 11 hits and drew eight walks on the way to scoring a season-high 13 runs. The output included two triples, two home runs and four stolen bases by the Aggies.
NC Central (2-12) is next scheduled to play a single game at North Carolina State University on Tuesday, March 8 at 5 p.m.
