DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University volleyball team will entertain a trio of opponents inside McDougald-McLendon Arena in its busiest home week of the season. The Eagles will host Elon University in its last non-conference match of the season on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before battling MEAC foes Delaware State University (Friday, 6 PM) and University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Sunday, 1 PM) over the weekend.

NC CENTRAL VOLLEYBALL
The Eagles will return home for its first home match in 22 days and NCCU is coming off a 3-0 win at South Carolina State on Sunday. NC Central (3-10 Overall, 2-1 MEAC) enters the week in a two-way tie for third place in the MEAC standings out of eight teams with DSU.
Freshman
Kamren Harper was named the MEAC Player and Rookie of the Week after posting 11 kills and five aces in Sunday's triumph over the Bulldogs. Harper has a team-best 2.48 kills per set and classmate
Tori Wilson follows closely behind with 2.35 kills per set while topping the Eagles with 0.78 blocks per set.
Other statistical leaders for NCCU includes sophomore setter
Vanila Pulu-Suliafu with 6.48 assists per set and sophomore libero
Loren Johnson with 0.35 aces and 3.91 digs per set.
NC Central is 0-15 against Elon in its modern era and will be playing the Phoenix for the first time since the 2019 season. The Eagles went 1-1 against Delaware State last season, including a 3-2 triumph at home, and the two teams remain deadlocked at 4-4 in the modern era series. NCCU meet Maryland Eastern Shore three times last campaign and, after splitting the regular season series, the Eagles secured a 3-1 win over the Hawks in the MEAC quarterfinals for NCCU's first DI era postseason win.
ELON VOLLEYBALL
The Phoenix have lost their last three matches, all in Colonial Athletic Association play. Elon (5-10 Overall, 3-3 CAA) is coming off back-to-back road losses at Northeastern.
Elon's statistical leaders consist of senior outside hitter Leah Daniel with 3.34 kills and 0.34 aces per set; senior setter Haylie Clark with 8.33 assists per set; senior libero Jordan Gower with 4.79 digs per set; and senior middle blocker Jenn Krzeminski with 1.04 blocks per set.
DELAWARE STATE VOLLEYBALL
The Hornets secured a 3-0 road win at Maryland Eastern Shore in its last match on Thursday, Sept. 29. Delaware State (12-4 Overall, 2-1 MEAC) is tied for third place in the MEAC standings with NCCU.
DSU's statistical leaders consist of junior middle blocker Alondra Maldonado with 2.57 kills per set; senior setter Malgorzata Andersohn with 5.82 assist and 0.49 aces per set; senior libero Jasmal Cruz with 3.59 digs per set and senior middle blocker Sydney Lewis with 1.20 blocks per set.
MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE VOLLEYBALL
The Hawks have lost eight straight matches coming into the week. Maryland Eastern Shore (2-11 Overall; 0-3 MEAC) will have two chances to get in the win column before playing at NCCU on Sunday when the Hawks play at American on Tuesday and at South Carolina State on Friday.
The Shore's statistical leaders are sophomore outside hitter Ranyla Griggs with 2.31 digs per set; senior setter Sophia Chacon with 5.34 digs per set; freshman libero Valeria Matias with 3.14 digs and 0.23 aces per set; and sophomore middle blocker Charlize Williams with 0.98 blocks per set.
