DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University senior guard
Jordan Perkins has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2021 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.
Perkins concluded his four-year playing career at NCCU ranked second in program history with 527 totals assists for an average of 4.8 helpers per game.
In his final season, Perkins played in all 14 games and averaged 6.3 points and 4.2 assists per contest.
Perkins tallied a season-high nine assists in NCCU's lone game in the month of January, a 94-61 victory over Carver College.
The two-time Preseason All-MEAC selection earned MEAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2017-18 when he totaled 190 assists, which ranks fourth-most in a single season at NCCU.
Perkins, who hails from Greensboro, North Carolina, is a recreation management major at NCCU with a minor in business. The two-time MEAC All-Academic Team and NCCU Dean's List honoree boasts a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (GPA) midway through his senior year.
