GREENSBORO N.C. – In North Carolina Central University's third outdoor track and field competition of 2021, the Eagles ended up with 13 top-10 finishes at the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Freshman
Matthew Swepson earned third place in the men's shot put with a 12.72-meter toss. He also finished fifth in the javelin throw with a 45.34m mark. Freshman
Bobby Sims achieved fourth place in the men's shot put with a 12.19m throw.
Junior
Zinzili Kelley placed seventh in the women's long jump with a 5.31m leap. In addition, she jumped 11.46m to finish tied for ninth place in the triple jump.
Junior
Colby Gibson leaped to a sixth-place finish in both the men's long jump and high jump events with 6.85m and 1.90m jumps, respectively.
Sophomore
Jaelyn Blanc performed well in the men's long jump and triple jump, earning ninth place in both events with 6.72m and 13.82m leaps, respectively.
Senior
Bhrandi Crenshaw achieved fourth place in the women's high jump with a 1.60m mark. Senior
Taelor Ferguson placed seventh in the women's triple jump with a 11.85m leap.
Freshman
Earl Green sprinted to a third-place finish in the men's 400-meter hurdles race in 52.51 seconds.
Senior
Marvin Jones soared to a fourth-place finish in the men's high jump with a 2.05m jump.
The Eagles will return to action at the Aggie Classic, hosted by North Carolina A&T, on April 24.
