RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University track and field teams kicked off the 2021 outdoor campaign by achieving eight top-15 finishes at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University on Thursday through Saturday.
NCCU had two individuals finish within the top five of their respective events. Senior
Marvin Jones soared 2.05 meters to a second-place finish in the men's high jump. Sophomore
Donnell Carter set a new personal-best 47.46 seconds to place fourth in the men's 400-meter dash.
Sophomore
Jereme Faison placed 10th in the men's long jump with a 6.72-meter mark. Senior
Gordon Lewis finished 10th in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.49. Sophomore
Jaelyn Blanc leaped for 11th place in both the men's triple jump (13.21m) and long jump (6.48m).
For the NCCU women, junior
Zinzili Kelley leaped 5.34 meters to earn 13th place in the long jump. The combination of

Del'Nique Penn, and
Erin Johnson finished 12th in the women's 4x100 relay race with a time of 47.46 seconds.
NCCU returns to action at the Vertklasse Meeting, hosted by High Point University, on April 1-2.
