Brandon Codrington has been selected as the MEAC Football Specialist of the Week for his performance during the Eagles' 34-28 overtime win over Delaware State University on Nov. 20, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced on Monday.
Codrington (5-9, 170, So., Raleigh, N.C.) blocked a Delaware State field goal attempt in the first overtime, which set up NCCU's victory. He also returned four punts for 45 yards with a long of 25 yards that set up a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, and two kickoffs for 36 yards with a long of 22 yards.
The defensive back also registered five tackles on defense.
Codrington finished the season atop the MEAC and No. 3 in the NCAA Division I-FCS in punt returns with an average of 15.0 yards per attempt. His 77-yard punt return touchdown against Alcorn State in the season-opener, sealed the victory for the Eagles in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Atlanta.
