STARTING FIVE:
1. NCCU begins its 88th season with over 1,220 wins.
2. LeVelle Moton will coach his 12th season at NCCU in 2020-21, and is just the third coach in program history to coach 10+ campaigns.
3. NCCU will play four of its five non-conference games away from home.
4. NCCU has won its last 10 home non-conference games
5. NCCU has gone 18-1 at home in non-conference games since 2016.
 
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Carver College has been on the road for the entire season and have played a challenging schedule, and the Cougars are still searching for their first win. Carver is led by Paul Hepburn who is averaging 8.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest.  Hepburn posted a joint game-high 19 points last time out in a 105-60 loss to Nicholls, and teammate Bryson Scott posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

WAIT FOR IT
After a 48-day lapse following the Dec. 12 contest at North Carolina, NCCU returned to play on Jan. 29 against Carver College for its home opener. Jan. 29 is the latest recorded date for a home opener for the Eagles, surpassing Jan. 5, 1949 when the Eagles opened the 1948-49 home slate with Tennessee State.
