NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month: Bhrandi Crenshaw


DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior jumper Bhrandi Crenshaw has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2020 in recognition of her outstanding performance from the takeoff board and in the classroom.
 
Crenshaw had an outstanding season with the Eagles, earning the silver medal in the triple jump and bronze medal in the high jump at the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships.
 
The resident of Alexandria, Virginia, started her winter season by winning the triple jump at both the JDL College Kick-Off Classic and the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. Crenshaw then leaped to the silver medal at the MEAC Indoor Championships with a season-long distance of 12.58m.
 
In the high jump, Crenshaw notched her fifth career conference medal with another season-best leap of 1.67m for bronze.
 
The two-time MEAC champion in the triple jump was an NCAA regional meet qualifier in 2019 and has a career-best hop, skip and jump distance of 12.72m.
 
Crenshaw is a criminal justice major and boasts a 3.67 cumulative grade point average (GPA). She is a MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team honoree and Dean's List student-athlete, who also participates with the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ).
