NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month: Nadia Blevins


DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University softball outfielder Nadia Blevins has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2020 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the field and in the community.
 
Blevins started in all 13 February games and led the Eagles with a .424 on-base percentage and five stolen bases. She finished the first month of the season batting .296 with eight hits, five walks, two runs and one RBI. Blevins reached base safely in nine contests, including a hit in NCCU's win against Harvard University.
 
In her first full season at NCCU, Blevins was named Third Team All-MEAC in 2019, with her 31 stolen bases tying for the first in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
 
The Four Oaks, North Carolina, resident played her first season at William Peace University before transferring to NC Central.
 
Blevins is a psychology major and she boasts a 3.935 cumulative grade point average at NCCU after posting a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester. She is a MEAC All-Academic Team honoree and a USA South Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference award winner at WPU. Blevins was named the NCCU softball Debra Saunders-White Leadership Award honoree in 2019. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society (top 10-percent of junior and senior class), the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Psychology Club. Blevins plans to get a doctorate degree in behavioral and developmental psychology after graduating from NCCU.
