SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Maryland Eastern Shore and NCCU meet for the second time this season, after the Eagles defeated MDES in an overtime thriller, 69-64 at Hytche Arena on Jan. 13.  MDES has won its last two games, following a weekend sweep of Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M.  Freshman guard Da'Shawn Phillip has been named MEAC Rookie of the Week for the past two weeks, and averaged 12 points and five rebounds with three assists over the weekend.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Howard travels to Durham in its final road game of the year, and the only meeting between the Eagles and Bison this season.  Howard is led by Charles Williams who is averaging 18.4 points along with 4.6 rebounds per game, and scored a team-high 20 points last time out against Bethune-Cookman.

PERKINS THE PLAYMAKER
Junior point guard 
Jordan Perkins has logged a lot of time on the court in his career, totaling over 2200 minutes, and 89 appearances with 64 starts out of a possible 94 games.  With that time on the floor, he's also been a great playmaker and now stands third all-time in career assists at NCCU.  On Jan. 20, 2020 at Florida A&M he recorded his 400th career assist to become just the third Eagle to reach that career milestone.  He then dished out seven assists against SC State on Feb. 1, 2020 to move into second all-time on the list.  Perkins is also second in the MEAC in assists with an average of 4.8 per game.  Below is a list of the top-five assisters at NCCU.
