LYNCHBURG, Va. – In North Carolina Central University's second indoor track and field competition of 2020, the Eagles ended up with 13 top-10 finishes at the 2020 Liberty Kickoff on Saturday.
Multiple Eagles walked away with top-5 performances. NCCU junior
Marvin Jones leaped 2.05 meters to earn second place in the men's high jump, and junior
Gordon Lewis finished fourth in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.44. Lewis then joined
Donnell Carter,
Jazire Notice, and
Malik Miles to claim fifth place in the men's 4x400m relay in 3:19.14.
For the women, NCCU had two individuals finish within the top 5 of their respective events. NCCU senior
Corneisha Mitchell finished third in the women's weight throw by posting a mark of 18.25m. Junior
Bhrandi Crenshaw earned fourth place in the women's high jump event with a 1.65m mark.
The Eagles return to action on Feb. 7-8 at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
