GREENSBORO, N.C. – Omega Smalls won the men's high jump to highlight 12 top-10 performances for North Carolina Central University at the annual Aggie Invitational on April 12-13 in Greensboro.
 
Smalls cleared the bar at 2.06 meters (6' 9") to top the high jump field, while teammate Marvin Jones placed third with a leap of 2.00m.
 
The NCCU men's 4x100-meter relay (Xavier Mfikwa, Isaac Roberts, Blake Hartsfield, Gordon Lewis)
Finished fourth with a time of 42.14, while freshman Ashton Drake placed sixth in the men's steeplechase in 10:20.61.
 
Other top-10 finishers for NCCU were Jessica Norman (7th, 25.11) and Erin Johnson (9th, 25.18) in the women's 200m dash, Deja Stevenson (7th, 11.52m) and Taelor Ferguson (9th, 11.31m) in the women's triple jump, Bhrandi Crenshaw in the women's long jump (8th, 5.51m), Colby Gibson in the men's long jump (8th, 6.74m), Auri Witherspoon in the women's 400m hurdles (9th, 1:03.53), and Mackenson Yrelus in the men's 800m run (10th, 1:55.04).
 
The NCCU track & field teams return to action on April 19-20 at the Duke University Invitational in Durham.
