HIGH POINT, N.C. – Nine North Carolina Central University student-athletes achieved top-10 finishes among a highly competitive field of participating schools at the annual High Point University VertKlasse Meeting on March 21-23.
Junior
Keila Robertson topped NCCU performers with a runner-up finish in the women's triple jump at a distance of 11.84 meters.
Leading the way for the NCCU men, sophomore
Marvin Jones placed fourth in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.01m.
Other top finishers for NCCU were senior
Bethany White in the women's 200-meter dash (6th, 24.27), senior
Kiana Seabrook in the women's long jump (7th, 5.39m), sophomore
Auri Witherspoon in the women's 400m hurdles (8th, 1:03.54), sophomore
Gordon Lewis in the men's 200m dash (9th, 21.74), junior
Deja Stevenson in the women's triple jump (10th, 11.31m), junior
Blake Hartsfield in the men's 100m dash (10th, 10.89), and freshman
Ashton Drake in the men's 300m steeplechase (10th, 10:48.76).
