LYNCHBURG, Va. – North Carolina Central University indoor track & field teams captured three event victories along with nine top-5 finishes during the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Liberty University on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 8-9.
 
NCCU senior Kiana Seabrook earned her first career long jump win with a leap of 5.60 meters, while also running fifth in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 56.30 seconds.
 
Sophomore Bhrandi Crenshaw posted a leap of 12.59m to win the women's triple jump, and placed 10th in the long jump at 5.25m.
 
The men's 4x400m relay, consisting of Da'Mon Ingram, Malik Miles, Joshua Polk and Gordon Lewis, ran to victory with a time of 3:19.20.
 
Senior sprinter Bethany White was the runner-up in the women's 200m dash with a time of 24.47, just 3-100ths of a second behind event winner Courtney Warner of East Carolina. White also placed third in the 60m dash in 7.54, only 1-100ths of a second behind the top two finishers.
 
Other runner-up performances were recorded by sophomore Gordon Lewis in the men's 400m dash (49.21), and both Marvin Jones and Omega Smalls (1.99m) in the men's long jump.
 
Sophomore Taelor Ferguson achieved a personal-best distance of 1.99m to place third in the women's triple jump.
 
Up next, NCCU prepares for the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 21-23 in Landover, Maryland.
