STARTING FIVE:
1. NCCU begins its 87th season of men's basketball with over 1,200 wins.
2. LeVelle Moton is coaching his 11th season with NCCU, and is just the third coach in program history with 10+ seasons.
3. NCCU has won nine consecutive home non-conference games inside McDougald-McLendon Arena
4. NCCU is 10-14 in December since 2016.
5. NCCU is 17-1 at home during non-conference play since 2016.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Louisiana Tech is off and running during the non-conference season, as the Bulldogs are 7-3 and 5-0 at home inside the Thompson Assembly Center.  LA Tech is outscoring its opponents by over 15 points per game, and are pushed by DaQuan Bracey who is averaging 13.2 points and 3.4 assists per outing, while shooting 52.6 percent from the perimeter and 51.0 percent from the field.  The Bulldog defeated Louisiana-Lafayette, 77-59, in their last time out, and Bracey posted a game-best 26 points with five treys and 10 made field goals.

PERKINS THE PLAYMAKER
Junior point guard Jordan Perkins has logged a lot of time on the court in his career, totaling over 1900 minutes, and 76 appearances with 57 starts out of a possible 81 games.  With that time on the floor, he's also been a great playmaker and now stands tied for fourth all-time in career assists at NCCU.  Perkins is also second in the MEAC in assists with an average of 4.0 per game.  Below is a list of the top-five assisters at NCCU.

AWAY DAYS
NCCU will only play four non-conference home games this year, with two in November and two in December.  The Eagles will again only play two home games in January once MEAC play starts.  With that said, the Eagles will go 20+ days between home games twice this season.  Below is a look at the longest gaps between home games this season.

MAKING 50, WINNING BIG
NCCU set a new Division I school record with 50 made field goals against Christendom on December 11, surpassing a mark of 47, also against the Crusaders in 2017 in a 109-28 victory.  The Eagles also recorded an impressive 90 points in the paint during that contest.  The Eagles won by 81 points, which is the second-largest margin of victory in school history after an 85-point triumph over Saint Augustine's, 119-34, on Feb. 18, 1944.
