DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Junior outside hitter
Christine Alcox blasted a career-high 18 kills for the visiting North Carolina Central University volleyball team in a 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) road loss at Bethune-Cookman University on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats (6-14 Overall, 3-3 MEAC) leveled their league ledger with the 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 win.
NC Central (3-16, 2-4) will conclude its six-match road swing with a non-conference rescheduled match at The Citadel on Monday at 6 p.m.
NC CENTRAL HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:
Alcox ripped her 18 kills on 44 attempts with just eight errors for a .227 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Estfania Louis matched her career-high kill total for a third time this season with 10 spikes.

A quintet of Lady Eagles reached double-digit digs, led by 22 from junior libero
Yomaries Villegas (one shy of her season-best total). Freshman
Alyssa Pieh followed with 12 digs, sophomores
Isis Mitchell and
Celene Morris both lifted up 11 digs and senior
Jessica Pilivi finished with 10 digs.
Morris was one assist shy of her season-high sum with 45 assists.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:
The Wildcats hit .256 for the match and held dig (84-77) and block (7-5) advantages over NCCU.
Bailey Robinson topped BCU's hitters with 17 kills, Ryleigh Dallas setup the Wildcat hitters with 41 assists and Shayla Eugene led all players with 26 digs.
1ST SET: Bethune-Cookman took the early edge with a six-point win by hitting .357 in the opener.
2ND SET: Fans witnessed 11 ties in the second set, including as late as 21-21 after a Faulkner kill. BCU then won four of the next five serves to squeak out the three-point win to go up 2-0.
3RD SET: NCCU nearly led the whole third set to extend the match. Alcox had five kills in the frame, including one that put the Lady Eagles up 12-7 early. NC Central won by that same five-point margin.
4TH SET: Six errors by NCCU's attack helped Bethune-Cookman to jump out 8-2. The Wildcats never relinquished the lead to end the match in favor of the hosts.
