NCCU’s White Wins Two Events at Liberty Kickoff

LYNCHBURG, Va. – North Carolina Central University senior sprinter Bethany White won two events to highlight 12 top-5 performances by the NCCU men's and women's indoor track & field teams at the Liberty Kickoff in Lynchburg, Virginia, on Friday and Saturday.
 
White achieved the second-fastest time of her college career in the 60-meter dash, finishing first in 7.48 seconds. She also ran to victory in the women's 200m dash with a time of 24.31, while teammate Tyresha Alexander placed fourth in the same race in 25.16 seconds.
 
White and Alexander joined senior Kiana Seabrook and freshman Olivia Andrews in the women's 4x400m relay, where the Lady Eagles finished in third place with a time of 3:54.55.
 
Andrews tallied a fifth-place effort in the women's 400m dash with a time of 57.43.
 
In the field, NCCU sophomore Bhrandi Crenshaw was the top collegiate finisher in the women's triple jump with a distance of 12.27 meters (40' 3.25"), while also placing fifth in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.60m (5' 3").
 
NCCU junior Keila Robertson placed third in the women's long jump (5.43m/17' 9.75") and fourth in the triple jump (11.61m/38' 1.25").
 
On the men's side, NCCU junior Omega Smalls placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 2.05m (6' 8.75"), while sophomore Marvin Jones finished fifth with a jump of 2.00m (6' 6.75").
 
NCCU freshman Colby Gibson placed fifth in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.92m (22' 8.5").
 
NCCU indoor track & field teams return to action on Feb. 1-2 at the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
