DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central University will travel to our nation's capital to open up play in the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Championship against host Howard University in the quarterfinals on Friday at 5 p.m.
The Lady Eagles are returning to postseason play for the third consecutive year under head coach
Jody Brown. NCCU (6-18) is the fourth seed from the Southern Division after going 4-6 in league play. The Lady Eagles draw the three-time defending champion Bison in the opening round.
Howard (17-10, 9-1) is hosting the three-day event inside Burr Gymnasium (Washington, D.C.).
Other quarterfinal matches include N2 University of Maryland Eastern Shore opening up against S3 North Carolina A&T State University at 11 a.m., S1 Florida A&M University battling N4 Morgan State University at 2 p.m., and S2 Bethune-Cookman University squaring off against N3 Coppin State University at 8 p.m.
The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 5 and 8 p.m. The NCCU/HU winner will play the BCU/CSU on Saturday at 8 p.m. The championship match will be contested on Sunday at 8 p.m.
