BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Junior middle blocker
Jazmine Daye led the North Carolina Central University volleyball team with seven kills and a .417 hitting percentage in a 3-0 loss to Wofford College Friday afternoon in the AmericInn Runnin' Bulldog Classic hosted by Gardner-Webb University.
The Terriers hit .311 for the match in rolling to the 25-21, 25-19, 25-17 victory. Wofford improved to 4-2 overall with its fourth consecutive win. NCCU dipped to 0-5.
NCCU HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:
Daye put down seven kills on 12 swings with just two errors for her .417 hitting percentage, which are both season-best marks.

WOFFORD HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:
Sophomore Kara Shacklette (.562) and junior Kara Shacklette (.600) both successfully converted over half of their swings into kills to lead the Terriers with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Sophomore setter Lorissa King set up Wofford's attack with 37 assists. Junior Lorissa Gill made a match-high nine digs.
SET-BY-SET:
1ST: The opener was the closest set of the match with 13 ties and five lead changes. A service ace by freshman
Braxton Wright had the Lady Eagles up 20-17 late before the Terriers closed the game on an 8-1 run that included seven kills.
2ND: Wofford controlled the middle frame, doubling up the score early at 10-5 and then doubling that advantage to 20-10 before coasting to the six-point conquest.
3RD: The Terriers connected for 14 kills on 24 swings with just two misfires for a .500 hitting percentage in rolling to its most lopsided win of the day by eight.
