NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month: Lynsey Cover

Award-Winning Tennis Senior Graduates with 3.792 GPA


DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women's tennis senior Lynsey Cover has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for June 2017 in recognition of her outstanding performance on the court and in the classroom.
 
A native of Nottinghamshire, England, Cover collected seven doubles victories in her final season, which ranked second on the team. She played 70 singles matches and 69 doubles matches during her four-year NCCU career.
 
On Feb. 15, she was recognized as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week. At the conclusion of the season, she earned a spot on the MEAC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team.
 
During the 2017 NCCU Honors Convocation, Cover received the Department of Physical Education and Recreation Award for Highest Academic Performance in Physical Education and was presented with the LeRoy T. Walker Physical Education Award.
 
Cover graduated from NCCU in May with an overall grade point average of 3.792, including a perfect 4.0 GPA during her final semester.
 
She recently finished working with transportation services for the All England Lawn Tennis Club during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
