DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University softball team will honor its senior class of five at 12:35 p.m. Saturday before starting its three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division series against North Carolina A&T State University at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, North Carolina. The rivals will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at Noon.
There will also be a free audio webcast of all three games with NCCU Sports Network broadcaster Mike Wood on the air with the play-by-play. Fans can follow NCCU softball all season by visiting

The Lady Eagles are coming off a doubleheader sweep of South Carolina State last Saturday and also lead the series finale, 15-10, in the middle of the fifth inning when it was halted by rain with the possibility of resumption of play still to be determined.
NCCU is 10-26 overall and 5-6 in the MEAC. The winner of this weekend's three-game series will earn a third seed in the MEAC Championship. The loser of the series needs to win one game this weekend or have SCSU lose one game this weekend against Savannah State to clinch the fourth and final seed from the Southern Division.
Sophomore
Miriam Duen leads the maroon and gray with a .301 average. She is followed by Wilson (.279), junior pitcher
Lauren Sitterson (.265), Allison (.250) and freshman third baseman
Ava Dolan (.241). Wilson, who has a team-high 16 RBI, joins Dolan with four home runs apiece. Mobley (.209) has team-best marks of seven doubles and 12 runs.
Wilson (7-14, 4.09 ERA, 83 SO, 116.1 IP) and Sitterson (3-7, 6.18 ERA, 25 SO, 71.1 IP) have tossed most of NCCU's innings this season.
The Lady Eagles were swept by NCAT last season in a trio of close games (4-3, 3-2, 8-5).
North Carolina A&T Softball
The Aggies swept Savannah State last weekend to stay a half-game ahead of NCCU in the league standings. North Carolina A&T is 14-27-1 overall and 6-6 in the MEAC.
Freshman outfielder Alyssa Green is making a big impact in her rookie season, batting .381. Sophomore pitcher Zadasia Waddell (.338) and senior first baseman Kimberly Brunson (.333) are also batting over .300 and top NCAT with 15 and 22 RBI, respectively. Junior outfielder Raven Gray is an All-MEAC honoree and is batting .221 with 13 RBI, 17 runs and a .315 on-base percentage.
Waddell (8-12, 3.62 ERA, 90 SO, 156.2 IP) and sophomore Mohagony Headen (6-15, 5.03 ERA, 86 SO, 119.2 IP) have been the deciding pitchers in every game for the Aggies this season.
