DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University softball team returns to action for the first time in 10 days when the Lady Eagles visit Radford University for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

N.C. Central Softball
The Lady Eagles last played in the weather-shortened Liberty Classic on March 10-11. NCCU (3-15 Overall) suffered a couple run-ruled losses to Saint Francis University and Liberty University around a 5-0 win against University of Rhode Island.
NCCU was scheduled to play twice last week, but both doubleheaders were rescheduled to due inclement weather, including the Radford set to Tuesday. The Lady Eagles will now also host Norfolk State University on April 5 at 1 p.m.
Dominique Wilson tossed her first shutout of the season in the 5-0 win against the Rams. Wilson (3-8) has all three of NCCU's wins and has team-best marks of a 4.85 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 56.1 innings pitched. Offensively, Wilson (.268) also paces the Eagles with six RBI.

Miriam Duen tops NCCU's batters with 14 hits and a .311 average. Duen and senior catcher
Kim Mobley (.255) have four doubles apiece. Freshman third baseman
Ava Dolan (.275) and senior pitcher
Jennifer Allison (.250) also sport batting averages of .250 or better.
NCCU will be playing Radford for the first time in program history.
Radford Softball
The Highlanders ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-0 win in the nightcap of their home doubleheader against St. John's University on Sunday. Radford (10-11 Overall) is 2-1 at home.
Senior pitcher Abby Morrow – an All-Big South Conference Second Team honoree – has eight of the Highlanders 10 wins. Morrow (8-5) sports a 3.56 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched.
Radford has six everyday batters in its lineup with averages over .250. Senior first baseman Kayla Bishton leads the list with a .333 average, while adding five doubles and 10 RBI. Sophomore left-handed batting shortstop Marissa Gagliano (.317), who joined Morrow as an All-BSC award winner, is a speed threat with 17 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Radford has six players with multiple home runs and senior designated player Brittany Wratchford (.294) tops the group with five home runs and 14 RBI. Freshman third baseman Hunter Mundy (.267) has made an immediate impact for the Highlanders with a team-high 15 RBI.
