WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's and women's track and field teams registered 10 top-5 performances on Sunday during NCCU's first meet of the indoor season, the UNCG Early Bird Duals at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
NCCU sophomore
Omega Smalls led the way with a runner-up finish in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.95 meters, while also finishing 10th in the long jump (6.36m).
Marvin Jones placed third in the high jump for the Eagles with the same height as Smalls.
NCCU also achieved two top-5 finishers in the men's pole vault, as
Nicolas Anderson placed fourth and
Hollan Strepay fifth with equal results of 3.70m.
Isaac Roberts placed fifth in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.05 seconds, and
Malik Miles finished fifth in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.58.
Junior
Miaysha Bryant topped the NCCU women with a fourth-place performance in the 200m dash in 25.78 seconds, while she also placed sixth in the 60m dash in 7.86 seconds.
Sharnea Brown finished fourth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.23m (36' 10.25").
NCCU also placed third in both the men's and women's 4x400m relays.

Jazire Notice posted a time of 3:25.02, while
Jaleesa Smoot,
Tyresha Alexander,
Lovasia Thomas and
Kiana Seabrook recorded a time of 4:00.95.
