DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University softball team will celebrate Senior Day prior to its season finale against Appalachian State University on Saturday. The non-conference doubleheader has been moved to the University of North Carolina's campus and will be played at Anderson Stadium with a new start time of 2 p.m.
Both contests will be carried live on the NCCU Sports Network, with Mike Wood on air with the play-by-play. NCCU sports information will be providing live stats and fans can also get updates on Twitter by following @NCCUAthletics.

The Lady Eagles were swept last weekend in a three-game conference series at North Carolina A&T State University and will miss the MEAC Softball Tournament with a final 2-13 league ledger. NCCU is 6-42 overall.
All five seniors have been key contributors to the Maroon and Gray this season. Wylie leads the squad with a .300 average and 23 runs scored. Tracy matches Wylie with 39 hits and has a .295 average with a team-high four home runs. Brueck (.204) is second on the team with 15 RBI while Tracy and Hargett (.266) have added 14 RBI apiece. Booker is batting .298 with six of her 14 hits being extra-base hits.

Dominique Wilson both been impactful from both the plate and in the pitcher's circle. Booker (4-16, 5.73 ERA) tops NCCU with four wins and 81 strikeouts in 105 innings. Wilson (0-11, 5.88 ERA) matches junior classmate
Jennifer Allison (1-13, 5.84 ERA) with 48 strikeouts apiece.
Wilson is batting .282 and has driven in a team-high 19 runs.
NCCU is 0-6 against App State under fifth year head coach
Theresa Stephens. The Lady Eagles last played ASU in 2014 with the Mountaineers winning one game in both Durham and Boone that season.
Appalachian State University Softball
The Mountaineers have lost 14 straight games entering their final four regular season games (they host N.C. A&T on Sunday). Appalachian State is 9-43 overall and was last swept in a three-game series against Texas State University.
App State has three players that have played in all 52 games and are batting over .300. Junior utility Cara Parker paces the Mountaineers with a .350 average, 40 RBI, 33 runs, 11 doubles and 10 home runs. Freshman utility Natalie Orcutt (.322) has a .441 on-base percentage with 30 walks and has scored 25 times. Freshman catcher Jenny Dodd has a .308 average and is matching most of Parker's power numbers with 41 RBI and 10 home runs.
Sophomore Heather Josey delivers another big bat in the Mountaineers lineup with 26 RBI, 10 doubles and eight home runs.
Junior Vanessa Ciocatto (7-20, 5.69 ERA) and freshman Annaleise Kennedy (2-15, 8.14) have accounted for all nine pitching wins for App State.
