ATLANTA, Ga. – North Carolina Central University's relievers did not allow an earned run in 5 2/3 innings of work but the damage had already been done as host Georgia Tech defeated NCCU 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field.
The Yellow Jackets scored six runs in the first to grab control of the contest from the onset and defeat the Lady Eagles for a second straight day. Georgia Tech improved to 7-14 overall and NCCU fell to 1-20.
Freshman
Breanna Carter pitched the first three innings of relief for the Lady Eagles and junior

The Yellow Jackets scored the half dozen runs in the first off of five hits, including three extra-base knocks, and one walk and one NCCU error. The opening surge was highlighted by a three-run homer off the bat of sophomore Kelsey Chisholm, her first of the season down the left field line.
Eight different Georgia Tech batters hit safely as the hosts outhit the Lady Eagles, 8-3. Junior Jessica Kowalewicz scored twice and senior Maddie Lionberger capped the Jackets first-inning surge with a two-run double.
NCCU left six runners on base, including four Lady Eagles stranded in the first three innings. The visitor's best chance at scoring came in the second when junior
Jenny Tracy poked a leadoff single up the middle and senior
Kayleigh Brueck followed with a walk.
Freshman starter Jenna Goodrich kept the Lady Eagles off the board despite runners on base in five of seven innings to collect her second complete game of the season. Goodrich (2-5) fanned eight batters and scattered her three hits allowed over three different innings.
Junior
Dominique Wilson had a single and a walk for NCCU and freshman
Jassonah Pettaway collected her first collegiate base knock with a pinch-hit single in the sixth.
