DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University volleyball team will be looking to win its third consecutive match when the Lady Eagles visit nearby Elon University on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Lady Eagles are coming off two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) home wins against South Carolina State University and Savannah State University. NCCU (5-13) will be playing its final non-conference match of 2016 on Tuesday.
The maroon and gray has three players averaging over two kills per set in senior
Casey Curran (2.49),
Kelsey Murphy (2.18) and
Whitney White (2.14).
Curran recorded her third double-double of the season on Sunday; Murphy is second on the team with 2.25 digs per set and has produced double-digit kills in three straight matches; and White is coming off a career-high 20 kill performance against the Savannah State Lady Tigers and adds 0.69 blocks per set.
Junior setter
Paige Phillips, who is coming off her best showing at NCCU yet with 44 assists and six kills, is averaging 7.37 assists per set.
Sophomore libero
Bree Simmons continues to lead the Lady Eagles with 3.32 digs and 0.27 aces per set.
Other top contributors for NCCU include sophomore
Jazmine Daye, who boasts a team-best 0.74 blocks per set, and freshman
Kennedy White, who tallied season-high marks of five kills, four aces and 10 digs over the weekend.
NCCU has dropped all 10 of its meetings against Elon at the NCAA Division I level (since 2007), including a straight-set setback in Durham on Sept. 13. Phillips led the Lady Eagles that night with the first of her four double-double so far this season with 17 assists and 15 digs.
Elon Volleyball
The Phoenix went just 2-8 in the month of October, with all 10 matches against fellow Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opposition. Elon (16-12 Overall) still maintains a record over .500 with a 13-3 non-conference ledger.
Sophomore Kam Terry paces a potent Phoenix attack that ranks in the top-10 of the nation in total kills and assists. Terry is producing 3.23 kills per set and is one of eight players that is averaging over one kill per set on the season.
Junior Sydney Busa (2.75 kills) and senior Ebony Scott (2.20) both average over two kills per set.
Defensively, senior Ally Karle tallied 1.31 blocks per set on the front row and sophomore Maddie Jaudon makes 4.25 digs per set on the back row.
Elon is hitting .210 on attack with junior Sydel Curry providing a whopping 10.33 assists per set.
Terry led the Phoenix to the 25-22, 25-14, 25-9 victory over NCCU earlier in the season with 10 kills. Curry and Jaudon chipped in 21 assists and 19 digs, respectively, from their specialist positions.
