NCCU has won nine-straight against the Bulldogs, and is undefeated in the Division I era in the matchup. SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:-South Carolina State finished 11-22 last season with a 7-9 conference record. The Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinals of the MEAC Basketball Championships before being defeated 54-68 by Norfolk State.
-The Bulldogs are led by Eric Eaves (Columbia, S.C.) with a strong 14.6 points per game. Gabriel MCray (Mitchellville, Md.) is a big contributor with 11.6 points and 4.8 boards per game alongside Darryll Palmer (Summerville, S.C.) who averages 8.1 points with a team-high 5.8 rebounds per contest.
-South Carolina State returns home after a three-game swing through the state of Ohio, ending with a 71-67 win over Miami (Ohio) on Jan. 2. Eaves poured in 23 points with five rebounds followed by Ed Stephens (Columbia, S.C.) with 13 points and Palmer contributed seven points and seven rebounds.
