DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women's tennis senior
Ekaterina Nekrasova has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for June 2015 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.
A native of Severodvinsk, Russia, Nekrasova posted a 16-8 singles record in her final season for the Lady Eagles before being named First Team All-MEAC for a second time in her career. The team captain also recorded a dozen doubles wins with classmate
Rebecca Wood.
During her four years representing the Maroon and Gray, Nekrasova notched a winning singles record of 47-32.
Academically, Nekrasova graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average in May, earning her bachelor's degree in business administration and finance along with a minor in French. She received the NCCU School of Business Dean's Award and Finance Award for having the highest cumulative GPA. She was also part of the University's Honors Program, Golden Key International Honor Society, NCCU School of Business Mentoring Program, Vice President for the business chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society and a NCCU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative.
For her distinguished accomplishments as both a student and an athlete, Nekrasova was voted to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District First Team for the District 3 at-large sports.
After graduation from NCCU she began her professional career as a financial analyst with Financial Integrity Resources Management, LLC.
