DURHAM, N.C. (NCCUEaglePride.com) – North Carolina Central University men's basketball senior Nimrod Hilliard has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2015 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the court.
A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Hilliard averaged 15.0 points, 6.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest in six games during the month of February. In that time, the 6-0 point guard shot 56.3 percent from the field, including 47.1 percent from 3-point range, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line to help lead the Eagles to a 6-0 record.
In his best outing of the month, Hilliard recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists during a home victory over Florida A&M on Feb. 2. He also scored 19 points, distributed seven assists and grabbed five rebounds in a win versus Morgan State on Feb. 21.
