Written by Staci Green, Student Assistant

DURHAM, N.C. – With its largest winning margin of the season, the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team prevailed against the Morgan State University Bears, 63-47, on Saturday, Feb. 21 in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.

The last three home wins for NCCU (7-18, 5-8 MEAC) have been on comebacks, but in its win over Morgan State (9-17, 6-8 MEAC), the Lady Eagles led the entire contest.

NCCU seniors Khyra Conerly and Racquel Davis attained double-doubles in Saturday's victory. Conerly amassed 15 points with 10 boards and six assists for the Lady Eagles, while Davis contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Lady Eagles head coach Vanessa Taylor gave credit to the fans during the post-game interview, as usual, for playing an integral part in the team's momentum.

Morgan State freshman Braennan Farar led both teams in scoring with 19 points. Senior Tracey Carrington followed behind with 12 scores and six rebounds.

The Lady Eagles have won their fourth consecutive home game of the season, and are looking to continue the streak as they welcome the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University on Saturday, Feb. 28 in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
