Complete Game Notes (PDF) THE GAME: NCCU returns to McDougald-McLendon Arena to defend the second-longest home win streak in Division I against Mississippi Valley State. This is the beginning of a three-game home slate, featuring conference games against Maryland Eastern Shore and Howard on Dec. 5 and 7.
SCOUTING THE DELTA DEVILS:
-Mississippi Valley State is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and finished 5-13 in conference play, and 6-25 overall. The Delta Devils are currently led by Marcus Romain (Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaging 14.3 points per game, and Michael Matlock (Memphis, Tenn.) with 5.1 rebounds per contest.
-The Delta Devils are coming off a 77-91 loss at Duquesne and are still in search of their first win of the season. MVSU was led by Isaac Williams (Powder Springs, Ga.) with 18 points and Matlock pulled down 10 rebounds.
SERIES: The Eagles and Delta Devils have only met once and NCCU came out on top with a 94-60 win on Dec. 20, 2014 in Clarksdale, Miss.
Dante Holmes (Baltimore, Md.) was a contributor in that game with 14 points and six boards,
Jamal Ferguson (Norfolk, Va.) pitched in 12 points and
Jeremiah Ingram (Detroit, Mich.) put in 10 points with four rebounds.
