BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Junior setter Casey Curran filled up the box score with 25 assists, four digs, one ace, one block and one kill to highlight play for visiting North Carolina Central University in a 3-0 non-conference volleyball loss at Campbell University on Tuesday evening in Gore Arena. The Camels (9-12) posted a .289 hitting percentage in winning their fourth straight match by set scores of 25-21, 25-11 and 25-16. The Lady Eagles (3-20) have suffered four consecutive setbacks.

Kelsey Murphy and freshman
Sydney Sumner, who had 16 combined kills. Murphy pounded down a team-high nine kills and led the Lady Eagles with eight digs to flirt with a double-double. Sumner added seven kills and six digs.

Kelly Rossip and freshman
Sydney Richardson added four and three kills, respectively. Rossip tallied two block assists.
CAMPBELL HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:Freshman Jessica Stocking and junior Jenny Tait led the Camels with 13.5 points apiece. Stocking ripped a match-high 12 kills and Tait was strong on all facets of the game with seven kills, three aces and five blocks (two solo, three assists).
Senior libero Mary Crema topped all players with 20 digs. Junior Rebecca Ramirez orchestrated the hot-hitting Campbell attack with 26 assists.
SET-BY-SET:1ST: The Camels hit .367 in each of the first two sets to take a commanding 2-nil advantage. NCCU held its only lead of the match by winning the first point on a kill by Sumner. Campbell jumped ahead but the Lady Eagles were able to tie the score a few times including the last time at 12-12 on a Murphy spike. The Camels won the next four points to pull back in front for good. Another Murphy kill closed the NCCU deficit to 22-20 but the hosts ended the set by winning three of the final four points. Sumner and Murphy had their best sets with five and four kills, correspondingly.
2ND: Campbell jumped out 5-0 with Crema serving and then used another 9-0 run late on Crema's next service rotation to pull away to the 14-point win. Stocking produced half of her dozen kills in the middle frame.
3RD: The Camels once again grab the early advantage, 4-0, and never relinquished the lead. An ace by senior
Marilyn Sherbondy pulled the Lady Eagles to within one at 10-9 but Campbell would more than double up the visitors, 15-7, from that point to complete the sweep.
OTHER NOTES, STATS & FACTS: Campbell is 13-1 against NCCU since the Lady Eagles started competing at the NCAA Division I level (since 2007). The Camels have won the last 12 consecutive meetings.
