LADY EAGLES RIDE MOMENTUM INTO MONDAY’S HOME GAME AGAINST SAVANNAH STATE

NCCU Coming Off Come-from-Behind Overtime Victory versus South Carolina State on Saturday

DURHAM, N.C. – With the sweet taste of victory still in their mouths from Saturday's overtime thriller, the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University set the table for a conference match-up against the Lady Tigers of Savannah State University on Monday, Jan. 12 inside McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
 
NCCU (3-12, 1-2 MEAC) rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to beat South Carolina State 56-54 in overtime on Saturday, ending the Lady Eagles' nine-game losing skid. Sophomore Morgan Jones scored a career-high 21 points in the victory, while redshirt senior Racquel Davis collected her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
 
Davis tops the Lady Eagles in scoring with 14.1 points per game and leads the league in rebounding with 9.7 caroms per contest.
 
Savannah State (6-8, 1-1 MEAC) is coming off a tough 59-56 road win on Saturday at North Carolina A&T, the Lady Tigers' second straight victory after seven consecutive setbacks.  SSU is topped by MEAC Preseason Player of the Year Ezinne Kalu, a redshirt senior guard who averages 17.3 points, 3.4 assists and a MEAC-best 2.8 steals per game.
