WASHINGTON, D.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team dropped its third-straight, as the Lady Eagles suffered a 70-65 setback in the nation's capital, falling to Howard on Monday, Dec. 8 inside Burr Gymnasium.  

Racquel Davis led all-scorers for the second-consecutive game as the Brooklyn, New York, native also collected her third season double-double. The 6-0 senior finished the defeat with 24 points and 12 boards in addition to three blocks, two assists and one steal.

The Lady Eagles (2-6, 0-2 MEAC) pulled ahead by as many as ten during the first half, before the Lady Bison (1-8, 1-1 MEAC) took the 40-33 lead into the locker room.

During the second half, NCCU outscored Howard 32-30, but was unable to make up the first half defect falling, 70-65.

Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) and Morgan Jones (Stockbridge, Georgia) trailed Davis offensively, each adding 12 points, while Conerly pulled down seven rebounds, dished three assists and collected two steals in the loss.

The Lady Bison were led offensive by Cheyenne Brown (20 points) who shoots extremely well from behind the arc against the Lady Eagles, averaging a 65 three-point percentage (11-for-17) during NCCU and Howard's last three match-ups.

Brown shot 4-for-6 from the three during the Lady Bison victory, trailed by Sydni Johnson's 18 points and Te'Shya Heslip's 14 points, five dimes and four steals.

The Lady Eagles continue road action on Wednesday, Dec. 10 as NCCU travels to Blacksburg, Virginia, to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies at 7 p.m.
