SYRACUSE, N.Y. – North Carolina Central University women's basketball dropped its fifth-straight contest of the season, falling 70-25 to No. 20/22 Syracuse, on Sunday, Dec. 14 inside the Carrier Dome.

Vanessa Taylor era, the Lady Eagles currently average 24.6 points per game while facing top-25 teams (0-4). Also falling 90-26 this month (Dec. 1), to the No. 1/2 South Carolina Gamecocks.
NCCU's (2-8, 0-2 MEAC) senior powerhouse forward 
Racquel Davis (Brooklyn, New York) dominated on the boards for the Lady Eagles, pulling down a game-best 14. Although NCCU struggled offensively, Davis and Syracuse native 
Nikki Works headed the scoring effort with six points each.
The Orange led 12-0 early before Works broke the NCCU scoring silence with a three-ball at the 16:32 mark.
During the Lady Eagles worst shooting performance of the season, NCCU only made four first-half buckets from the field (18.2%) and two foul shots, as they trailed Syracuse 30-12 at intermission.
With 3:14 left in the contest, a fast break layup from Cornelia Fondern gave the Orange their largest lead of the game, on top of NCCU 68-20.
Syracuse ran away with the 70-25 victory, holding NCCU to a season-low 20.5 (9-for-44) field goal percentage.
 Three Orange finished in double-figures led by sophomore Briana Day's 15 points and 10 boards.
The Lady Eagles round out their six-game road stretch on Wednesday, Dec. 17 as NCCU travels to Conway, South Carolina, to face Coastal Carolina at 7 p.m.
