CampbellDURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team continues road action as the Lady Eagles (1-0) travel to Buies Creek, North Carolina on Monday, Nov. 17 to take on the Campbell Lady Camels (1-0) inside Gore Arena at 7 p.m.
NCCU defeated Western Carolina 64-59 during its season-opener Friday night (Nov. 14), to kick off the Lady Eagles second-straight 1-0 season start.
Campbell currently holds a 12-2 all-time series advantage over NCCU with the last meeting occurring on Dec., 16, 2013 in Durham, as the Lady Camels down the Lady Eagles 56-45.
NCCU BREAKDOWN- Three Lady Eagles scored in double-figures during NCCU's season-opening victory over WCU, as senior Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) led the game with 20 points followed by sophomore Morgan Jones' (Stockbridge, Georgia) 14, and senior Racquel Davis' (Brooklyn, New York) 12.
- NCCU returns 8 letterwinners and three starters this season from a squad that went 11-19 overall in 6-10 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, finishing ninth in the regular season a year ago.
- Head coach Vanessa Taylor enters her third season at NCCU and holds a 14-47 career record with the Lady Eagles.
- The Lady Eagles were picked to finish tenth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll by the league's coaches and sports information directors.
- After being named to the 2013-14 MEAC third-team, Davis was selected to repeat on the pre-season All-MEAC Third Team.
