THE GAME
The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team closes out its four-game home stand and looks to snap its two-game lose streak as the Lady Eagles (7-11, 3-5 MEAC) welcome the Morgan State Lady Bears (2-16, 0-5) to McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium on Monday, Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

DAVIS ON THE DOUBLE
  • Junior Racquel Davis has collected seven double-doubles this season (at Presbyterian, at South Florida, vs. Gardner-Webb and vs. Western Carolina, at Florida A&M, at Bethune-Cookman and vs. Coppin State), averaging a team second-best 12.9 points and a team-best 8.6 rebounds per contest.
  • Davis earned a season-best 15 rebounds at Presbyterian (Nov. 14) and 27 points at Florida A&M (Jan. 11).

THE FREEMAN FILE
  • NCCU redshirt senior guard Jessica Freeman leads the Lady Eagles this season averaging 14.4 points per game, shooting 89-for-263 from the field (.338), 41-for-125 from behind the arc (.328) and 41-for-52 from the free throw line (.788). She also leads the team steals (50) and second-best in assists (37).
  • Freeman has scored in double-figures during 13 of the teams 18 match-ups this season and earned a season-high 26 on Dec. 19 during a 73-69 victory over Western Carolina.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Despite going on a 12-2 run during the final 46 seconds of the game to cut the deficit to five, the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team (7-11, 2-3 MEAC) dropped a 67-58 decision to the Coppin State Eagles (8-10, 5-1 MEAC) on Saturday, Jan. 25 inside McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
  • Redshirt senior Jessica Freeman (Charlotte, N.C.) led the Lady Eagles offensively for the 10th time this season collecting a game-high 18 points on 4-for-14 shooting from the field, 2-for-10 from behind the arc and 8-for-8 from the charity stripe while also earning a game-high five steals.
  • Junior Racquel Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added her seventh double-double of the season to the NCCU shortcoming with 15 points and 12 boards in addition to Khyra Conerly's (Oakland, Calif.) 12 points, four assists and four steals.
  • As a team, NCCU shot 16-for-47 from the field, 2-for-14 from behind the arc and 24-for-32 from the free throw line while pulled down 30 rebounds, dishing eight assists and collected 12 steals and one block.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BEARS
  • Morgan State is currently on a nine-game losing streak as the Lady Bears are winless in MEAC action this season.
  • MSU is led by junior Tracey Carrington's 21.7 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game.
  • The Lady Bears are coming off of a 78-48 loss to the North Carolina A&T Aggies in Greensboro on Saturday.
  • During the loss three Lady Bears scored in double figures led by Carrington's 13.
