NCCU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL WIN STREAK SNAPPED AT NO.12/13 USC

Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. – Junior transfer Racquel Daivs (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned 14 of the Lady Eagles 27 points as NCCU's three-game win streak was broken by the No.12/13 South Carolina Gamecocks, 79-21 on Monday, Dec. 2 in Columbia, S.C.

Davis finished with a team-high 14 points, shooting 3-for-8 from the field and 8-for-10 from the foul line in addition to six boards and two steals.

Senior Tiffany Gary (Delray Beach, Fla.) pulled down a team-best seven boards and a block for the Lady Eagles while redshirt senior Monique Whaley-Briggs (Philadelphia, Penn.) added four points to NCCU's shortcoming.

The Gamecocks were led by Tiffany Mitchell who collected a game-best 19 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc.

As a team the Lady Eagles shot 8-for-50 from the field, 1-for-14 from the three, 10-of-12 from the free throw line, collected 28 rebounds, three steals and one blocks.


After a two-week break, NCCU returns home on Monday, Dec. 16 when the Lady Eagles host the Campbell Camels in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
