DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's and women's cross country teams made a return to the Al Buehler Cross Country Trail located on the campus of Duke University in Durham, N.C., where they hosted North Carolina A&T State University and Paine College for the third annual NCCU Cross Country Relay.
Lady Eagles’ sophomore Amber Brooks led the women as the top runner at the meet and helped lead her team to a first place finish time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Brooks, who ran her best lap with a time of 3:21.23, completed the 4k course in 13.49.20.
On the men’s side, freshmen Orane Morais paced the Eagles. Morais completed the 5K course in 16:45.25, with a best lap of 2:59.04. The Eagles also took home the first place finish with an overall time of 1:25.
The NCCU men's and women's cross country teams return to action Saturday, Sept. 15 as they participate in the Duke University Cross Country Invitational in Durham, N.C.
