Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NCCU at Presbyterian: Game One / Game Two

CLINTON, S.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - North Carolina Central University sophomore Cember Carmichael notched four hits during a doubleheader 5-2 and 4-0 loss to Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., on Tuesday, March 13 at the PC Softball Complex.
 
The mighty maroon tallied two runs in the opening contest of the night.  Carmichael and fellow sophomore Regina Diaz reached home plate, while Carmichael and sophomore Amanda Bullock slugged two hits apiece on four times at bat and three times at bat, respectively.  Freshman Martha Batie and Bullock notched one RBI apiece.
 
As team, NCCU totaled seven hits.
 
Maroon and gray junior Bianka Molina threw the first pitch, where she struck out two Blue Hose despite allowing seven hits and four runs against 16 batters in 3.1 innings.  Senior Aurora Baker relieved Molina for 2.2 innings of play to allow three runs and one hit.
 
PC utilized three pitchers in their 5-2 win.  Opening pitcher Kensley Loudermelk threw 1.0 innings to allow two hits and two walks, while striking out one NCCU batter.  Cat Travin, who notched the win, struck out four batters, as she allowed five hits and two runs.  Leslie Hensley finished the pitching campaign with four strikes against nine batters.
 
Blue Hose third baseman Rachel Hopper guided the offense with one run, three hits and two RBI on three times at bat.
 
In game two of the night, PC took the win 4-0. 
 
NCCU’s Carmichael maintained her consistency from game one, slugging two hits.
 
Baker pitched a complete game for the Lady Eagles, striking out one PC batter, while allowing five hits and three earned runs against 22 batters.
 
Hensley also pitched a complete game and tallied the win with two strikes and permitting five hits.
 
Blue Hose second baseman Morgan Durham notched one run, one hit and two RBI.
 
NCCU drops to 1-22 on the season and continues the season with their final tournament at Campbell University on March 17-18 in Buies Creek, N.C.
