Question: Why did you choose NCCU?
Xavier Proctor: “I chose NCCU because when I came down for a visit my senior year in high school I talked to Mrs. LuAnn Edmonds-Harris and she spoke of NCCU with such pride and admiration. After that conversation, I knew that I wanted to be an Eagle.”
Q: What is your major? What do you want to do after NCCU?
XP: “History. I want to be a high school history teacher and football coach; then eventually a principal.”
Q: What do you like most about being an NCCU Eagle?
XP: “I would have to say the culture of NCCU - from the people to the campus, to everything that I’ve learned at NCCU. I feel like being at NCCU has really helped me grow up. Also, just being an Eagle is a great privilege.”
Q: What is your favorite part of game day at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium?
XP: “Just the entire pregame activities, from stretching, to seeing the pregame highlight video and running out of the tunnel.”
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
XP: “Not really, just listening to music, praying and mentally preparing myself.”
Q: Tell me something interesting about yourself that others may not know.
XP: “I am a great cook. I am not saying I’m super chef Bobby Flay, but if I was on the Iron Chef…I’d win.”
Q: What has been your most memorable moment at NCCU?
XP: “Watching the Aggie-Eagle Classic my true freshmen year in Charlotte. It was an amazing experience. You could really feel the whole stadium shake, not to mention it was a great game to watch.”
Q: How would you like to be remembered from your playing days at NCCU?
XP: “That’s an interesting question. I never really thought to look that far ahead, but I guess I would want people to just remember me as a hard-working, dedicated athlete. I also want people to remember when think of me that ANYTHING is possible through hard work and devotion.”
Q: If you could invite any living person to WG Pearson cafeteria for lunch, who would it be?
XP: “Dave Chappelle.”
Q: Why football?
XP: “It’s always been football, ever since I was little. I always loved the game and love playing it.”
Q: What three words best describe you?
XP: “Hard-working, alpha-male, jackhammer, merciless, debonair.”
