PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – North Carolina Central University sophomore
Amber Brooks placed 10th during the MEAC Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Princess Anne, Md., to earn all-conference honors for the second straight year.
Brooks, a native of Tampa, Fla., completed the 5k-course with a time of 19 minutes, 26.35 seconds.
As a team, the NCCU women placed 11th out of 13 teams with 236 points, while the NCCU men placed 13th with 356 points.
Taisha Parkins was the next Lady Eagle to cross the finish line in 49th place with a time of 21:25.57.
Delesha Conquest finished in 51st place (21:27.21), followed by
Regina Summerville in 61st place (21:53.23) and
Syrita Hunt in 74th place (22:48.06).
The NCCU men were topped by freshman
Rodiero Shambley in 64th place with a time of 31:52.73 on the 8k-course. Other leading finishers for the Eagles were
Snonsio Boye-Weah in 71st place (33:15.65),
Keenan Terry in 72nd place (33:17.90),
Kevin Vincent in 76th place (33:58.97) and
Quinn Burkhalter in 77th place (34:00.91).
