Ty Brown swept the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their performances during the Eagles’ thrilling come-from-behind 24-20 victory at Morgan State University in Baltimore on Saturday (Oct. 13).
A native of High Point, N.C., Reid completed 76 percent of his passes with career-highs in completions (29) and passing yards (261). He threw a 26-yard, game-winning pass with just 25 seconds on the clock to give the Eagles the victory and their first three-game win streak since 2007.
Brown, who hails from Charlotte, N.C., recorded nine tackles, eight solo, with 3.0 stops behind the line of scrimmage, including two unassisted sacks for a loss of 13 yards. He also recovered a fumble and forced a fumble that was recovered by the Eagles and resulted in a momentum-swinging, third-quarter touchdown.
The win keeps NCCU unbeaten in conference play and shares first place in the MEAC standings with Bethune-Cookman.
