BUIES CREEK, N.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - In their fourth meeting this season against Campbell University on Monday, April 25, the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University suffered a 10-0 loss to the Camels in Buies Creek, N.C.
Campbell’s Olivia Scarborough pitched a complete no-hitter game. Scarborough faced 18 batters, striking out nine and walking four.
Shamika Chavis-Hodge began on the mound for the maroon and grey. In 3.1 innings of play, Chavis-Hodge faced 22 Camels, she struck out one batter and walked four. The sophomore pitcher also allowed Campbell’s 9-of-10 runs. Kayla McPeek was next on the circle, against four batters McPeek permitted one run and three hits.
Amanda Miller led the host offense going 2-for-2 on three times at bat. Raven Lee amassed four RBIs on the night.
The mighty maroon drops to 6-32 on the season.
The Lady Eagles travel to Orangeburg, S.C., for a three-game series against South Carolina State. The weekend begins with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, the first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
