Melvin Perrow II joined North Carolina Central as an assistant women's basketball coach in August 2026.
A first-time Division I coach, Perrow brings a proven track record of success at the collegiate level. He previously served on coaching staffs at Mary Baldwin, Richard Bland, William & Mary and USC Salkehatchie. Perrow was on NCCU head coach Olivia Gaines' staff at Richard Bland, where he played an instrumental role in guiding the program through a historic first season highlighted by a regional championship, a No. 2 NJCAA national ranking and a national runner-up finish.
Perrow is an elite skill-development and strength-and-conditioning specialist, working extensively with high school and college athletes. He has designed training programs focused on preparing athletes mentally and physically for competition.
