Amanda Scott joined North Carolina Central University Athletics in August 2023 as an Assistant Sports Information Director. She is the primary media contact for men’s basketball, men’s & women’s tennis and men’s & women’s track and field.
Prior to her arrival to NCCU, Scott spent two years at Lander University as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant, serving as the primary contact for acrobatics & tumbling, men’s & women’s golf, men’s & women’s tennis, and ESports.
While at Lander, Scott was named the 2022 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Langston Rogers Postgraduate Scholarship recipient. She also was a part of the 2022-23 Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Staff of the Year.
Scott completed three sports internships prior to working in college athletics. She had two summer stints with the New Jersey Jackals, a Frontier League baseball team based in northern New Jersey at the National Landmark ballpark, Hinchliffe Stadium.
In 2018, Scott was a spring intern at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She worked with the front office in baseball and softball operations, helping host weekend tournaments and spring training games.
The Paterson, New Jersey native earned her MBA in 2023 from Lander University during her graduate assistant tenure. She also earned her first master’s degree at Arkansas State University in Sports Administration in 2018.
Scott graduated with summa cum laude honors from William Paterson University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. While there, she was a staff writer for the Pioneer Times student newspaper, writing for the sports and entertainment sections.
