Takia Nichols enters her first year as softball graduate assistant at North Carolina Central after a standout career in the sport at her alma mater.
As a player, Nichols was a two-time All-MEAC selection for the Eagles. She was a first-team selection in 2023 when the Eagles captured their first-ever MEAC title. That season, Nichols batted .338 with 44 hits, 31 RBIs, 23 runs and eight home runs. In the MEAC championship game, Nichols collected two hits, one RBI, one run and her first collegiate stolen base in the title victory over Coppin State.
In 2025, Nichols was a third-team All-MEAC pick after totaling 19 RBIs, two home runs and five doubles in addition to three sacrifice flies and 12 walks. She was a two-time MEAC All-Academic softball selection and was named to the CSC Academic All-District softball team...Â
